P.A.S.S. Program

What is the P.A.S.S. Program?

The Pathway to Academic Success and Socialization (PASS) program assists entering first year students to succeed in college.  It is designed for motivated, first generation college students who desire to jump start their education at Huston-Tillotson University (HT) and strengthen the transition from high school to college.

The P.A.S.S program consists of two major activities: a one-week summer pre-collegiate orientation program and a living-learning community during the fall and spring semesters.

The P.A.S.S program is provided free of charge to participants.  Participants will attend classes geared to ensure success at the college level.  Students who participate in pre-collegiate “bridge” programs are four times more likely to earn an undergraduate degree than those students from similar backgrounds who did not participate.  Social and cultural programs are held during the evenings and weekend to promote learning and encourage team building.  Part of the higher educational experience is developing the skills to live and thrive in a diverse environment.
